Collectief Ruigoord

Ruigoord heeft de poort al 50 jaar wijd open. De weg naar binnen, van de industriële omgeving, de groene oase in, kon nog wel een sterkere markering gebruiken. Deze groene poort werd bedacht en ontworpen door Ruben Lodeizen. Thieu Smeets voorzag de poort van twee mussen en het symbool van Ruigoord: de psilist. Dennis Bast vervlocht de wilgen in de boog. De groengroep, o.l.v. Naomi Laudermilk en Sieger Duinkerken, zorgden voor de planten, die de komende jaren in de groene poort klimmen en groeien.

Psilist, symbool van Ruigoord, bestaat uit de drietand van Neptunus en van Shiva, tevens de Griekse letter psi (symbool voor niet-exacte wetenschappen), de lemniscaat (symbool van oneindigheid) en de glimlach van de liggende maan. Overal in Ruigoord is de psilist te vinden, bovenop de kerk, op flyers van feesten en op het zwaaihout gemaakt door Froid. Psilist, is ook de naam van een tijdschrift, waarvan de laatste edities nog in 1985 en 1986 verschenen. Het blad was, net als veel in Ruigoord, een Gesamtkunstwerk.

Collectief Ruigoord bestaat uit kunstenaars, ontwerpers, doeners en denkers verbonden aan Ruigoord.

Ruigoord has had its gate wide open for 50 years. The way in, from the industrial environment into the green oasis, could still use a stronger marker. This green gate was conceived and designed by Ruben Lodeizen. Thieu Smeets provided the gate with two sparrows and the symbol of Ruigoord: the psilist. Dennis Bast intertwined the willows in the arch. The ”groengroep”, led by Naomi Laudermilk and Sieger Duinkerken, provided the plants, which will climb and grow in the green gate in the coming years.

Psilist, symbol of Ruigoord, consists of the trident of Neptune and of Shiva, also the Greek letter psi (symbol of non-exact sciences), the lemniscate (symbol of infinity) and the smile of the reclining moon. psilist can be found everywhere in Ruigoord, on top of the church, on flyers of parties and on the swaying wood made by Froid. Psilist, is also the name of a magazine, the last editions of which appeared as recently as 1985 and 1986. The magazine, like much in Ruigoord, was a Gesamtkunstwerk.
