De Dingplaats
Een houten koepel, verzonken in het midden van het veld, met een vuurplaats in het midden. Dit is De Dingplaats, een initiatief van Ruigoord. De cirkelvormige verzamelplek voor 50 mensen doet denken aan Europese paganistische verzamelplekken van de Vikingen, de Kelten en Frisia. Het woord ding verwijst nog steeds in veel Noord-Europese landen naar vergadering of rechtspraak. De dingplaats is van oudsher de plek waar de dingen bedongen werden. Een bekende Dingplaats is Stonehenge in Engeland. In Nederland werden ze vaak van hout gebouwd.
Ruigoord heeft een traditie van holistisch denken en biedt al 50 jaar een toevluchtsoord voor verschillende spirituele en naturalistische bewegingen. In de afgelopen jaren groeide de behoefte aan een plek waar besluitvorming, ceremonies en rituelen kunnen plaatsvinden.
Zo ontstond het initiatief voor De Dingplaats. De cirkel dient als ruimtelijke voorwaarde voor gelijkwaardige en inclusieve besluitvorming. Het is een natuurinclusief ontwerp, bedoeld om de komende 50 jaar de gemeenschap en het landschap te versterken.
Collectief Ruigoord
Collectief Ruigoord bestaat uit kunstenaars, ontwerpers, doeners en denkers verbonden aan Ruigoord. Zo komt het concept voor De Dingplaats uit de geest van velen voort. Het ontwerp is van scenograaf en social designer Geartsje van der Zee (1991). Constructieontwerp en bouw door Jim de Ruiter en Giacomo Cardoni.

The circular gathering place for 50 people is reminiscent of European pagan gathering places of the Vikings, the Celts and Frisia. The word ding (thing) still refers in many northern European countries to assembly or justice. ”De dingplaats” is traditionally the place where things were stipulated. A well-known ding place is Stonehenge in England. In the Netherlands, they were often built of wood.
Ruigoord has a tradition of holistic thinking and has provided a haven for various spiritual and naturalistic movements for 50 years. In recent years, the need grew for a place where decision-making, ceremonies and rituals could take place.
Hence, the initiative for De Dingplaats. The circle serves as a spatial condition for equal and inclusive decision-making. It is a nature-inclusive design intended to enhance the community and landscape for the next 50 years.
Collectief Ruigoord
Collectief Ruigoord consists of artists, designers, doers and thinkers connected to Ruigoord. Thus, the concept for De Dingplaats emerged from the minds of many. The design is by scenographer and social designer Geartsje van der Zee (1991). Construction design and construction by Jim de Ruiter and Giacomo Cardoni.
