Ruigoord Variaties
Achter in het dorp, ligt het atelier van Hennie van der Vegt. Hij werkt al 22 jaar aan de serie ‘Ruigoord Variaties’. Geschilderde portretten van mensen die betrokken zijn bij het – zoals hij het noemt – ‘theater Ruigoord’.
De hele serie van inmiddels 72 portretten, is in het jubileumjaar van Ruigoord 50 jaar, te zien in de NDSM Fuse, Amsterdam (tot begin juli). Daarna stelt hij een aantal van de portretten tentoon in Kunstruimte Belle, naast zijn atelier op Ruigoord.
Meer dan 70 multidisciplinaire makers, kunstenaars, muzikanten, schrijvers, creatieve drijvers en performers. Unieke mensen en individuen, die samen Ruigoord maken. Van der Vegt portretteerde de Ruigoorders van het eerste uur, de oprichters, en bijzondere figuren die veel betrokken waren bij Ruigoord zoals Willem de Ridder, Simon Vinkenoog en Armand. De laatste 10 portretten laten de nieuwe generatie Ruigoord zien. Naast de oprichters van het eerste uur, verbindt zich steeds weer een nieuwe generatie en groep mensen aan Ruigoord. Die hun schouders onder – de producties van – Ruigoord zetten.
Met podcast- en televisiemaker Frank Alsema volgt er een serie (live) interviews met ludieke kunstenaars en Ruigoorders, die Hennie van der Vegt portretteerde.

Hennie van der Vegt (1953, NL) is vooral bekend door zijn bloem- en planten (bladeren) schilderijen. Op geheel eigen wijze, geeft hij het genre bloemstillevens een nieuwe impuls.
At the back of the village, lies the studio of Hennie van der Vegt. He has been working for 22 years on the series “Ruigoord Variations”. Painted portraits of people involved in the – as he calls it – “theater Ruigoord”.
The entire series of now 72 portraits, is on display in the anniversary year of Ruigoord 50 years, at the NDSM Fuse, Amsterdam (until early July). After that, he will exhibit some of the portraits at Kunstruimte Belle, next to his studio on Ruigoord.

Van der Vegt portrayed the Ruigoorders of the first hour, the founders, and special figures who were much involved in Ruigoord such as Willem de Ridder, Simon Vinkenoog and Armand. The last 10 portraits show the new generation of Ruigoord. In addition to the founders of the first hour, a new generation and group of people are constantly connecting with Ruigoord. Who put their shoulders under – the productions of – Ruigoord.
With podcast and television producer Frank Alsema, a series of (live) interviews with playful artists and Ruigoorders follows, which Hennie van der Vegt portrayed.
