Roua Atelier, Studio Mina en Atelier de Ambacht (onderdeel van het Textiel Netwerk Amsterdam Nieuw West) brengen erfgoed, duurzaamheid en creativiteit samen. Hier ontdek je hoe planten, verhalen en ambacht verbonden zijn met mode en hoe makers uit de buurt nieuwe toekomsten weven. het is een ode aan ambacht, samenwerking en de kracht van vrouwenmakers. Alles, van stof tot verf tot design, is lokaal en circulair geproduceerd. Hier zie je, voel je en ervaar je dat mode kan ontstaan met respect voor mens, natuur en gemeenschap.

Indigo is meer dan een kleur – het is een symbool dat eeuwenlang culturen verbond. In West-Afrika staat het voor spiritualiteit, in Japan voor bescherming, in India voor eenheid met de aarde. En ja, indigo groeide ooit ook in Amsterdam! Op het festival herontdekken we deze traditie met lokaal verbouwde indigo, rechtstreeks van de Amsterdamse grond.

13:00 – 15:00 Indigo & zeefdrukworkshop
Maak kennis met Amazigh symbolen die kracht, verbinding en vrijheid uitdrukken. Ontwerp je eigen stof met zeefdruk en natuurlijke Amsterdamse indigo en zie hoe tijdens het indigo-verven betoverende patronen ontstaan. Daarna kun je je ontwerp transformeren tot een uniek T-shirt of tas.

15:00 – 17:00 Repair session
Heb je kleding die kapot is? Tijdens deze sessie laat Latifa el Bazi je zien hoe je scheuren, gaten en losse naden herstelt. In this case, we continue to enjoy the benefits of kledingstuk.

Het Textiel Netwerk Amsterdam Nieuw-West is een collectief van lokale makers, kunstenaars en ondernemers dat werkt aan een circulaire en inclusieve textieleconomie. Mina Ouaouirst verweeft haar Amazigh-achtergrond en persoonlijke verhaal in textiel, film, fotografie en installaties. Als sociaal ondernemer initieert zij projecten waarin ambacht, erfgoed en duurzaamheid samenkomen en ruimte ontstaat voor samenwerking en talentontwikkeling. Roua Atelier richt zich op de ontwikkeling van lokale pigmenten en innovatieve methoden. Met oog voor erfgoed en duurzaamheid werkt het atelier aan een textielindustrie met échte impact, waarin traditie, innovatie en menselijke verbinding samenkomen. Atelier de Ambacht is een sociaal en creatief atelier. Met naaicursussen, workshops en open inloopmomenten brengen zij buurtbewoners samen rond ambacht en creativiteit. Het atelier is een plek voor vakmanschap, talentontwikkeling én ontmoeting. Samen weven zij verhalen van vakmanschap, cultuur en gemeenschap in duurzame textiel en mode.

Roua Atelier, Studio Mina en Atelier de Ambacht (part of the Textiel Netwerk Amsterdam Nieuw West) bring heritage, sustainability, and creativity together. Here you’ll discover how plants, stories, and craft are woven into fashion, and how local makers create new futures. It’s an ode to craftsmanship, collaboration, and the power of women makers. Everything – from fabric to dye to design – is produced locally and circularly. This is where you can see, feel, and experience how fashion can be created with respect for people, nature, and community.

The Magic of Indigo
Indigo is more than just a color – it’s a symbol that has connected cultures for centuries. In West Africa it represents spirituality, in Japan protection, in India unity with the earth. And yes, indigo once grew in Amsterdam too! At the festival, we rediscover this tradition with locally grown indigo, cultivated right here in Amsterdam soil.

What You’ll Experience
13:00 – 15:00 Indigo & Screen-Printing Workshop
Discover Amazigh symbols that express strength, connection, and freedom. Design your own fabric using screen-printing and natural Amsterdam indigo, and watch enchanting patterns emerge as it’s dipped into the vat. Afterwards, transform your design into a unique T-shirt or bag.

15:00 – 17:00 Repair Session
Do you have any damaged clothing? During this session, Latifa el Bazi will show you how to repair tears, holes, and loose seams. In this case, we continue to enjoy the benefits of the garment.

The Textile Network Amsterdam Nieuw-West is a collective of local makers, artists, and entrepreneurs working toward a circular and inclusive textile economy. Mina Ouaouirst weaves her Amazigh background and personal story into textiles, film, photography, and installations. As a social entrepreneur, she initiates projects that bring together craftsmanship, heritage, and sustainability, creating space for collaboration and talent development. Roua Atelier focuses on the development of local pigments and innovative methods. With an eye for heritage and sustainability, the studio works towards a textile industry with real impact, in which tradition, innovation, and human connection come together. Atelier de Ambacht is a social and creative studio. With sewing courses, workshops, and open walk-in moments, they bring local residents together around craftsmanship and creativity. The studio is a place for craftsmanship, talent development, and meeting people. Together, they weave stories of craftsmanship, culture, and community into sustainable textiles and fashion.
