Disnovation is een kunst- en onderzoeksgroep, werkzaam op het snijvlak van hedendaagse kunst, onderzoek en hacking. De groep maakt werk waarmee twijfel en debat wordt uitgelokt over onze omgang met technologie.
Voor Post Growth Toolkit heeft Disnovation een groot aantal onderzoekers, theoretici en activisten geïnterviewd. Hiermee wil het collectief bruikbare concepten, verhalen en gegevens verzamelen waarmee we radicaal andere manieren van leven in relatie tot onze omgeving kunnen creëren.
Energy Slave Tokens bestaat uit een reeks gewichten van bitumen. De gewichten zijn wat betreft energie gelijk aan specifieke hoeveelheden fysieke menselijke arbeidstijd (1 uur, 1 dag, 1 week, 1 maand, 1 jaar, 1 leven). Deze serie gewichten is ontworpen om de orde van grootte weer te geven die de door ons lichaam gegenereerde arbeidskracht scheidt van de energie die voornamelijk uit fossiele brandstoffen wordt gewonnen.
Disnovation is an art and research group working at the intersection of contemporary art, research, and hacking. The group produces artworks that raise questions and provoke debate about how we deal with technology.
Disnovation interviewed a large number of researchers, theorists, and activists for Post Growth Toolkit. With this, the collective wants to collect usable concepts, stories, and data that will enable us to create radically different ways of living in relation to our environment.
Energy Slave Tokens consist of a series of bitumen weights. The weights correspond to specific amounts of physical human labour time in terms of energy (1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year, 1 life). This series of weights is designed to represent the order of magnitude that separates the labour power generated by our bodies from the energy obtained mainly from fossil fuels.
