Next Nature

Kunstenaar en filosoof Koert van Mensvoort is vooral bekend om zijn werk met betrekking tot het filosofische concept Next Nature, dat stelt: we moeten voorwaarts gaan – niet terug – naar de natuur. Het is gericht op het idee dat onze technologische omgeving zo complex, alomtegenwoordig en autonoom is geworden dat het kan worden beschouwd als een wereld an sich. Van Mensvoort heeft als doel om onze relatie met technologie beter te begrijpen en om een weg uit te stippelen naar een toekomst die waardevol is voor zowel de mensheid als de gehele planeet. 

Tijdens RE_NATURE introduceert Van Mensvoort het project ECO Coin van Next Nature Network. ECO Coin is een alternatieve valuta om ecologische waarde uit te drukken. Door een beloning te koppelen aan ‘groene’ acties wordt ecologisch gedrag gestimuleerd.

It focuses on the idea that our technological environment has become so complex, ubiquitous, and autonomous that it can be considered a world in itself. Van Mensvoort’s goal is to better understand our relationship with technology and to chart a course towards a future that is valuable to both mankind and the entire planet.

During RE_NATURE, Van Mensvoort will introduce the ECO Coin project of Next Nature Network. ECO Coin is an alternative currency for expressing ecological value. By linking a reward to ‘green’ actions, ecological behaviour is stimulated.
