Tamar Frank

Boven de Tramkade, aan de kade van de Dieze, rijst een hoge toren boven alles uit. Wanneer je in de schemer Den Bosch in komt rijden, trekt deze lichtinstallatie van Tamar Frank de aandacht. De toren huisvest tijdens RE_NATURE een zwerm van lichtgevende deeltjes die als een kolonie van verlichte bacteriën of vuurvliegjes omhoog en omlaag kringelen. Beweeglijk en poëtisch. 

Hiermee laat Frank zien dat de onzichtbare wereld van bacteriën en virusdeeltjes deel uitmaakt van de natuur, net als wij, maar we zien ze vaak als gevaarlijk en als iets buiten onszelf. Wij zijn natuur, wij maken deel uit van het ecosysteem, maar ook in onszelf bevindt zich een ecosysteem van bacteriën.

Above the Tramkade, on the embankment of the Dieze, a tall tower rises above everything else. When you drive into Den Bosch at twilight, this light installation by Tamar Frank will attract your attention. During RE_NATURE, the tower will house a swarm of luminous particles, which will swirl up and down like a colony of illuminated bacteria or fireflies. It is both dynamic and poetic.

With this, Frank shows us that the invisible world of bacteria and virus particles is part of nature, just like us, but we often see them as dangerous and as something outside ourselves. We are nature, we are part of the ecosystem, but there is also an ecosystem of bacteria within us.
