Rebelse klanken van de Ruigoord Rebels, een begrip in Ruigoord. Deze keer met special gast Chris Corstens.

De Ruigoord Rebels, rebels en eigenzinnig. Blues, funk en ragtime. Ze trekken zich niets aan van heersende trends maar gaan hun eigen weg. Ze spelen eigen nummers en nummers uit de vorige eeuw die nog steeds de pan uit swingen maar ook weten ze altijd een gevoelige snaar te raken. 

Geboren in de roemruchte vrijhaven Ruigoord hebben ze vele transformaties ondergaan rond frontvrouw Barbara Schroevers, zij begeleidt haar karakteristieke zang op dobro mandoline en voert je mee met door het leven doordrenkte songs. 

Sinds twaalf jaar werkt zij samen met haar partner Alain Eskinasi (keyboard) die de band een geheel nieuw gezicht gaf. Walking Walter fungeert als drijvende kracht op de bas, altijd to the point. Lili Bell brengt je met haar mondharmonica terug in de tijd toen de blues nog levend was. Hans van Brunschot met de juiste feel op de drums. Daarnaast wordt de band regelmatig versterkt met fabuleuze gastmuzikanten zoals bijvoorbeeld Simon Haneveld ( een virtuoos jonge gitarist).

Rebellious sounds from the Ruigoord Rebels, a household name in Ruigoord. This time with special guest Chris Corstens.

The Ruigoord Rebels, rebellious and idiosyncratic. Blues, funk and ragtime. They don’t care about prevailing trends but go their own way. They play their own songs and songs from the last century that still swing, but they also always know how to strike a chord.

Born in the illustrious free port of Ruigoord, they have undergone many transformations around front woman Barbara Schroevers, who accompanies her characteristic vocals on the dobro mandolin and carries you away with songs steeped in life.

For twelve years, she has been working with her partner Alain Eskinasi (keyboard), who gave the band a whole new look. Walking Walter is the driving force on bass, always on point. Lili Bell takes you back in time with her harmonica, to when the blues was still alive. Hans van Brunschot provides the right feel on the drums. In addition, the band is regularly reinforced with fabulous guest musicians such as Simon Haneveld (a virtuoso young guitarist).
