Sound Healing Dance

Ni Wayan Cynthia

Healing intergenerational trauma through devotional artistic rituals.

Ni Wayan Cynthia is a Dutch-Indonesian artist and has her roots in Bali, Indonesia. Through her art, she connects with her heritage and creates a realm to feel the inner world. This installation and performance is a further phase from her graduation work at HKU.

The installation grew from a variety of artistic rituals devoted to her Balinese ancestors. She  is passing through the honor for nature like her ancestors. The trees, the flower petals, the holy water, the wind, the scents and sounds are all part of the installation. The performance is a dance of a flower seed. As she honors the cycle of birth, life, death and the world beyond there where the ancestors are.

By following nature’s life lines with her own body, she creates a realm for intergenerational wounds to heal.

*The installation can be visited throughout the day, and will be activated through performances during the weekend.
