Waterceremonie / Water Ceremony (NL/EN)

Een waterceremonie is een spiritueel ritueel, geworteld in de tradities van inheemse volkeren, waarbij water een centrale rol speelt voor reiniging, heling of verbinding met de natuurlijke wereld. Deze rituelen, vaak uitgevoerd bij natuurlijke waterbronnen zoals rivieren of regenwater, zijn eeuwenoud en houden de culturele en spirituele band van de gemeenschap met het water in stand.

In een land als Nederland waar de helft van onze landsgrens grenst aan water, speelt water van oudsher een grote rol. Nicole meent dat onze voorouders geen strijd voerden TEGEN het water, maar leefden MET het water. Hoe we dat deden? Daar zal zij je meer over vertellen.

Nicole Zonderhuis is ceremonieel leider, waterhoedster en priesteres van Nehalennia, onze inheemse godin van de zee. Ze voert al jaren waterceremonies uit door het hele (water)land. Ze schrijft o.a. Spoken Word over water.

A water ceremony is a spiritual ritual rooted in the traditions of indigenous peoples, in which water plays a central role in purification, healing or connecting with the natural world. These rituals, often performed at natural water sources such as rivers or rainwater, are centuries old and maintain the community’s cultural and spiritual connection with water.

In a country like the Netherlands, where half of our border is adjacent to water, water has traditionally played a major role. Nicole believes that our ancestors did not fight AGAINST water, but lived WITH water. How did we do that? She will tell you more about that.

Nicole Zonderhuis is a ceremonial leader, water guardian and priestess of Nehalennia, our indigenous goddess of the sea. She has been performing water ceremonies throughout the (water) country for years. She writes Spoken Word about water, among other things.
