Dit najaar vindt het tweede RE NATURE Festival plaats. Een weekend vol groene inspiratie met workshops, talks, wandelingen, ceremonies, kunst, diners, concerten, films & theater. Twee dagen programma voor alle zintuigen. 

Net als de eerste editie van het festival in Den Bosch is deze in Amsterdam ​vol inspiratie van kunstenaars, ontwerpers, ecologen, ​inheemse wijsheid, activisten​, dromers en doeners.

RE imagining our future 
Visionairs in het festival zijn de kunstenaars, ontwerpers, groene pioniers en de dromers. Zij laten zien wat mogelijk is. Kunst kan ons opnieuw leren kijken en luisteren, zo ook naar natuur. Het festival deelt groene inspiraties, methodes en soms zelfs oplossingen. Vanuit de gedachte, dat wat we met elkaar kunnen visualiseren, ook kunnen realiseren! Er is zelfs een echte droomexpert die je meeneemt in de kracht van dromen.

Programma 
Ben je benieuwd naar de laatste ontwikkelingen in voedselbossen, regeneratieve en coöperatieve landbouw? De pioniers op dit gebied vertellen hier meer over. Wil je aan de slag met je eigen voedsel verbouwen, oogsten, wecken of fermenteren? Er zijn diverse workshops: fermenteren, permacultuur en tincturen maken. Wil je meer weten van inheemse natuurwijsheid of ben je nieuwsgierig naar een (natuur)ceremonie, een concert met planten, een wildpluk- of kunstwandeling of theaterstuk? RE NATURE is een multidisciplinair, inhoudelijk en ervaringsgericht festival met een hoofdrol voor kunst en natuur. Creatieve makers en groene pioniers nodigen je in dit bijzondere weekend uit tot een verdieping.

RE NATURE Festival voor kunst en natuur is in 2020 opgericht om op een hoopvolle wijze en vanuit creativiteit en oplossingsgerichtheid te reageren op de urgentie van de klimaatcrisis. De eerste editie van het festival vond in 2021 plaats in Den Bosch. Deze tweede editie is wederom vol groene kennis en inspiratie waaruit de verwevenheid van alle leven ​spreekt en onze daaruit volgende verantwoordelijkheid (​zorg).

Met je kaart heb je toegang tot het festivalterrein, de markt, food stalletjes, lezingen en diverse optredens. Stel daarnaast je eigen dagprogramma samen, door je tickets te reserveren voor workshops/theaters en andere bijzondere programma’s.

Wie/wat
Imke Ruigrok, curator van de Oase van Verwondering​ op Ruigoord, is de oprichter van het RE NATURE festival waar kunst en natuur centraal staan en organiseerde eerder al een zeer succesvolle editie in 2021 in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Op de Tramkade waren ruim veertig projecten te zien van kunstenaars als Atelier Van Lieshout, ​Melanie Bonajo​, De Onkruidenier, Renzo Martens, Tabitha Rezaire, Arahmaiani, Ambassade van de Noordzee ​en Amanda Piña.

Kunstenaarsdorp Ruigoord en groene oase
In 2024 werkt Ruigoord verder aan de groene ambities die in 2023 – het 50-jarige jubileumjaar van deze culturele vrijplaats– een versnelling hebben gehad. In 2023 toverden we Ruigoord nog meer om tot een Oase van Verwondering. Een groene toon-, inspiratie-, maak- en educatie plek, met ruim 30 ecologische kunst- en ontwerpprojecten waaronder van Atelier Van Lieshout, Ambassade van de Noordzee, Femmy Otten, De Onkruidenier en Zoro Feigl.

2024 belooft niet minder groen en ambitieus te worden. Er komen weer nieuwe ecologische kunst- en bouwwerken bij en ook zijn er diverse ecologen, kunstenaars en ontwerpers betrokken. De resultaten van deze projecten worden onderdeel van het ‘openluchtmuseum’ Oase van Verwondering en/of gedeeld op het RE NATURE festival.

Ecologische kunstwerken – Oase van Verwondering
Ruigoord: Oase van Verwondering heeft ruim 35 ecologische kunstwerken. Een greep uit de projecten: een tempelruimte voor healing met bijen, een klimaat onderduikbunker (Atelier Van Lieshout), het Wilgen Portaal, een strobalen hut met een bacteriën meditatie en muziek door bacteriën (Jamie Nee), Waterwijsheid (Suzette Bousema), een ondergronds laboratorium (De Onkruidenier), een haven onderzoekslab (Ambassade van de Noordzee) en nog veel veel meer. De Oase van Verwondering op Ruigoord is dagelijks en vrij toegankelijk te bezoeken.

RE_NATURE thema’s 

RE_Naissance 
We signaleren dat de huidige tijd een Renaissance periode is, die met name gericht is op het opnieuw begrijpen van onze relatie met natuur. Dit tijdperk is daarom verbonden met veel RE-ismen (in het Nederlands HER-ismen).  Zoals  her-verbinding met verloren kennis, bewustzijn, belichaming, interdisciplinair en grensoverschrijdend denken én doen.

RE_Connect
Het herinneren en weer in contact komen met verloren inspiratie, kennis en zorg. Dat geldt voor onze (voor)ouderlijke kennis en zorg voor onze community en grond.

RE_Root
S​taat voor het opnieuw in contact komen met je eigen wortels: achtergrond, geschiedenis, grond, lokale tradities en kennis. Het betekent ook opnieuw gronden en wortel schieten. Vertragen en verbinden: connecties maken met je gemeenschap, wijk, voorouders, omgeving. Dat betekent op sommige vlakken ook De-scaling, dat vraagt om een opnieuw begrijpen wat een wenselijke schaal is voor verbinding, verantwoordelijkheid en uitwisseling. Re-understanding scale. Dat is een de-scaling op sommige vlakken en opschalen op het gebied van andere vlakken. Collectief werken, samenwerken​ en leren van elkaar. Hoe worden we co-conspirators? Hoe kunnen we vragen stellen, het midden opzoeken, verbinden, leren, groeien en veranderen?

RE_Member
Het herinneren van de relatief recente kennis en technieken waaruit een enorme verbinding en begrip van onze lokale grond, tradities en gewassen spreekt. Kennis van eigen grond, van grootmoeders en -vaders. Lokale wijsheid en tradities die een verweven relatie met natuur, de seizoenen en de grond centraal stellen. Inheemse elders (de wijzen van oorspronkelijke natuurvolkeren) van over de hele wereld beantwoorden op dit moment de call dat zij zich uitspreken en hun kennis delen met alle uithoeken van de aarde, want zij zijn degenen die het grootste percentage van de aarde beschermen en oorspronkelijke kennis hoeden. Het is helaas zo dat we in het westen ver afgedreven zijn van onze lokale wortels en kennis. We re-learnen (herinneren) het besef van interconnectedness van ​o.a. wisdom keepers uit Dakota, Amazone en Peru, en hebben uiteindelijk lokaal met onze eigen grond en gemeenschap de verantwoordelijkheid en zorg om de wederkerigheid, de regeneratieve ​kennis en balans terug te brengen.

RE_spons(e)able
Zijn we in staat tot – verantwoordelijk – reageren? Are we response able? De reacties op de klimaatcrisis en -urgentie variëren van angst en verdriet, tot lethargie, boosheid en actie. En als we in actie komen, welke actie is dat dan? Is dat een protesterende vuist of gaan we over tot maatregelen die aanzetten tot verandering? Zoals het instellen van rechten voor natuur, bomen, grond of zee? Kunnen we verantwoordelijkheid nemen voor alle leven? Kunnen we keuzes maken die zorg dragen voorbij ik-denken, landsgrenzen, en ​tevens rekening houden met de lange termijn en toekomstige generaties?

RE_Invent
Het uitvinden van slimme en nieuwe systemen die natuur dienen, naar natuur luisteren en van haar leren​. Systemen die regeneratief zijn (wederkerig in plaats van verbruik).

The second RE NATURE Festival will be in Amsterdam this autumn. A weekend full of green inspiration with workshops, talks, walks, ceremonies, art, dinners, concerts, films & theater. 

A multisensory 2-day program. Just like the first edition of the festival in Den Bosch, it will be full of inspiration from artists, designers, ecologists, indigenous wisdom, activists, dreamers and practitioners. 

RE imagining our future 
Visionaries in the festival are the artists, designers, green pioneers and the dreamers. They show us what is possible, as art can teach us to have a closer look, to slow down and deepen our listening, similar to nature.The festival shares green inspirations, methods and sometimes even solutions. Based on the idea that what we can visualize, can be realized! There is even a real dream expert who will show you the power of dreams.

Program 
Are you curious about the latest developments in food forests, regenerative and cooperative agriculture? The pioneers in this field tell us more about this. Do you want to get started growing, harvesting, preserving or fermenting your own food? There are various workshops: fermentation, permaculture and tincture making. Would you like to know more about indigenous nature wisdom or are you curious about a (nature) ceremony, a concert with plants, wild picking, art walk or theater piece?

RE NATURE is a multidisciplinary, substantive and experience-oriented festival with a leading role for art and nature.

RE NATURE Festival for art and nature was founded in 2020 to respond to the urgency of the climate crisis in a hopeful manner and from a creative and solution-oriented perspective. The first edition of the festival took place in Den Bosch in 2021. This second edition is once again full of green knowledge and inspiration that illustrates the interconnectedness of all life and our resulting responsibility.

With your card you have access to the festival grounds, the market, food stalls, lectures and various performances. In addition, put together your own day program by reserving your tickets for workshops/theaters and other special programs.

Who/what
Imke Ruigrok, curator of the Oasis of Wonder on Ruigoord, is the founder of the RE NATURE festival where art and nature are central, and previously organized a very successful edition in 2021 in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. More than forty projects were on display at the Tramkade by artists such as Atelier Van Lieshout, Melanie Bonajo, De Onkruidenier, Renzo Martens, Tabitha Rezaire, Arahmaiani, Embassy of the North Sea and Amanda Piña.

Ruigoord artists’ village and green oasis 
In 2024, Ruigoord will continue to work on the green ambitions that accelerated in 2023 – the 50th anniversary year of this cultural sanctuary. In 2023 we already transformed Ruigoord even more into an Oasis of Wonder. A green place full with inspiration, making and education, with more than 30 ecological art and design projects, including Atelier Van Lieshout, Embassy of the North Sea, Femmy Otten, De Onkruidenier and Zoro Feigl.

2024 promises to be no less green and ambitious.
New ecological works of art and buildings are being added and various ecologists, artists and designers are also involved. The results of these projects will become part of the ‘open-air museum’ Oasis of Wonder and/or will be shared at the RE NATURE festival.

Ecological works of art – Oasis of Wonder 
Ruigoord: Oasis of Wonder has more than 35 ecological works of art. A selection of the projects: a temple space for healing with bees, a climate bunker (Atelier Van Lieshout), a willow portal, a straw bale hut with a bacteria meditation and music from bacteria (Jamie Nee), Water Wisdom (Suzette Bousema), an underground laboratory (De Onkruidenier), a port research lab (Embassy of the North Sea), and much more. Oasis of Wonder on Ruigoord can be visited daily and freely.

RE_NATURE Themes 

RE_Naissance RE NATURE strongly sees we are in an age of Renaissance to re-understand our relationship with nature. This era is therefore connected to many RE-isms. Such as the REconnection to lost knowledge, awareness, embodiment, interdisciplinary and cross boundary thinking and doing.

RE_Connect 
Remembering and reconnecting with lost inspiration, knowledge and care. This applies to our (ancestral) knowledge and care for our community and land.

RE_Root stands for reconnecting with your own roots: background, history, soil, local traditions and knowledge. It also means re-grounding and taking root. Slow down and connect: making connections with your community, neighborhood, ancestors and the environment. In some areas this also means descaling, which requires a new understanding of what a desirable scale is for connection, responsibility and exchange. Re-understanding scale. Thus a descaling in some areas and scaling up in other areas. Working collectively, collaborating and learning from each other. How do we become co-conspirators? How can we ask questions, find the middle, connect, learn, grow and change?

RE_Member
Remembering the relatively recent knowledge and techniques that demonstrate an enormous connection and understanding of our local soil, traditions and crops. Knowledge from our own soil, from grandmothers and fathers. Local wisdom and traditions that focus on an interwoven relationship with nature, the seasons and the soil. Indigenous elders (the sages of original natural peoples) from all over the world are currently answering the call to speak out and share their knowledge with all corners of the earth, for they are the ones who protect the largest percentage of the earth and original knowledge hats. Unfortunately, in the West we have drifted far from our local roots and knowledge. We re-learn (remember) the awareness of interconnectedness from wisdom keepers from Dakota, Amazon and Peru, and ultimately have the responsibility and care locally with our own land and community to bring back reciprocity, regenerative knowledge and balance.

RE_spons(e)able 
Are we able to respond – responsibly? Responses to the climate crisis and urgency range from fear and sadness, to lethargy, anger and action. And if we take action, what kind of action is it? Is it a protesting fist or are we taking measures that encourage change? Such as establishing rights for nature, trees, land or sea? Can we take responsibility for all life? Can we make choices that care beyond self-thinking, national borders, and also take the long term and future generations into account?

RE_Invent
Inventing smart and new systems that serve nature, listen to nature and learn from it. Systems that are regenerative (reciprocal instead of consumption).
