Shaping Time

Annabel Schouten is kunstenaar, musicus, performer en componist. Voor RE_NATURE maakte ze een wandelconcert langs de Dommel. 

De route start vanaf het station, volgt het water en eindigt op het festivalterrein. Shaping time richt zich op kijken, wandelen en luisteren tegelijk. Het is een ruimtelijke manier van luisteren met hiervoor speciaal gemaakte instrument-installaties met strijkers en percussie. Het is een route van 60 minuten met een concert op verschillende plekken langs de Dommel. De afstand tussen de muzikale interventies maakt dat je niet alles tegelijkertijd kunt horen. Al wandelend vormt iedere bezoeker zo een eigen, unieke compositie.

The route starts at the station, follows the water, and ends at the festival site. Shaping time focuses on looking, walking, and listening at the same time. It is a spatial way of listening with specially made instrument installations including strings and percussion. It is a 60 minute route with a concert at various places along the Dommel. The distance between the musical interventions means that you cannot hear everything at once. Each visitor creates their own unique composition whilst walking.
